Different Types of Delta 8 Products, and What They Actually Offer

Again, Delta 8 THC comes in the same delivery methods that we use when we seek out the effects of delta 10, CBD, and other popular hemp cannabinoids.  Let’s quickly cover each primary delta 8 method so that you know what you can find on the market when  ready to invest in a delta-8 product.

  • Delta 8 Vapes: Come in the form of pre-filled cartridges, disposable devices, and bottled vape oils.  Vaping delta 8 offers effect within minutes, which usually last for around an hour while being felt very potently.  Many delta-8 companies offer vapes in numerous strains.
  • Delta 8 Flower: Like vapes, flower offers potent, fast-acting, and short-lived effects when inhaled.  Flower has the distinction of coming in a broader array of strains than any other type of product.
  • Delta 8 Tinctures: Work sublingually, absorbing beneath the tongue in a form of an oil.  They tend to take effect within 30 to 60 minutes after administration, lasting for up to 6 hours while feeling slightly less potent than inhalable products.
  • Delta 8 Gummies & Edibles: Promote up to 9 hours of effects but take about 1 to 2 hours to be felt after ingested.  Also have milder cerebral effects and a stronger body high.
  • Delta 8 Capsules: Work similar to edibles by absorbing through digestion and promoting about the same onset time, duration of effects, and types of effects.
  • Delta 8 Dabs: Highly potent concentrates that are vaporized with a dabbing device.  They promote super strong effects that take place almost instantly and wear off within an hour.

Using Two Delta 8 THC Products in One Day: Is It Advisable?

It is no less advisable than doubling up on delta 8 products.  Yes, delta 8 is a mildly psychoactive compound, but that doesn’t mean that it’s associated with any serious danger when taken twice.  Remember that delta8’s high is milder than delta9’s, so you won’t feel as high as you would if you took two forms of delta 9.

On the flip side, because delta 8 THC is psychoactive, you do have to be careful if  particularly sensitive to these effects.  Naturally, taking two delta 8 products in a short period of time could make you feel “more high” than you had intended, which is something that some people may not be comfortable with.  In this instance, it is best to stick with just one product.

Over time, you can consider incorporating a new type of product into your routine that could meet your particular goals related to this cannabinoid.

What Should You Keep in Mind When Adding a New Delta 8 Product to Your Routine

If you’re going to take two delta 8 products in one day, there are some things to keep in mind beforehand that impact how you will feel as a result of doubling up on this new form of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

#1: If You’re a Beginner, Start with One Delta-8 Product

First off, if you’re totally new to delta 8, we don’t recommend using more than one product in a day.  That’s because whenever you try a new compound, it’s best to start with a low amount to see how it makes you feel.

Some people are naturally more sensitive to the psychoactive effects of delta 8 than others, and it can take getting used to if you’re a complete beginner.  Further, most of us build up a tolerance to these effects over time, meaning that in the beginning, you may feel the properties more strongly than you will after repeated use.

#2: Timing Makes a Difference With Delta 8

One big factor that determines how two products will affect you is when you take each one.  For example, vaping some delta 8 in the morning and taking a tincture later on at bedtime means that you won’t be feeling the effects of both of the products at the same time.

But, taking a gummy, and then vaping delta 8 about an hour later means that for a period of time, both of these products will be active in the system, resulting in stronger effects due to the number of milligrams of delta 8 in the body.

#3: The Delivery Method of Each Delta-8 Product Matters

The delivery methods that you combine together Delta 8 products also matter.  As we said, each type of delta 8 product has its own onset time, potency, and duration of effects.  So, how you take two doses of delta 8 delivers the ultimate potency, onset time and duration of effects in terms of the overall experience.

For instance, let’s say you take a delta 8 capsule and a delta 8 edible simultaneously.  They both take about an hour or two to activate, lasting for about 8 hours.  So, taking one of each together is like taking a product that’s twice the strength of average.

On the other hand, taking a hit off of your vape along with a gummy means that by the time the gummy is taking effect, the effects of the vape are already beginning to wear off.

#4: Delta-8 Dosage and Milligram Strength Play a Major Role

Naturally, how much of each product you take matters also.  Taking half a standard dose of two products is like taking one full dose of one product.  And, taking extra-strength products together will produce particularly potent effects. Know your Delta 8 THC dosage before taking any products together.

#5: Terpenes

Some delta 8 products contain terpenes, and others do not.  Terpenes offer additional effects from their own separate properties, so the terpenes in your delta-8 product, or lack thereof, can have a lot to do with the effects that you end up feeling. Terpenes can be cannabis or botanical based, however the effects they bring are usually similar or even the same. When you combine terpenes, you can get terpenes that uplift you, and others that make you happy at the same time.
