Can You Mix THCA Flower with Weed?

THCA flower allows for a totally satisfying type of flower experience, with THCA being the precursor to delta 9 THC, which converts into delta 9 once it’s heated, as flower is before it’s used.  Given its fast-rising popularity, it’s not surprising that people who take other hemp products are wondering whether or not it’s okay to throw THCA flower into the mix.  So, can you take THCA hemp flower with another hemp product, or is it best to stick to one product type at a time?

Is it Safe to Take THCA with Another Cannabinoid?

First off, let’s talk about safety.  The good news is that there’s no real risk of mixing different cannabinoids together.  Remember that these plants exist together in nature, in the buds of the hemp plant.  They do not interact negatively with each other, and because hemp compounds are nontoxic, there’s no risk of overdose caused by taking multiple cannabinoids in one sitting.

Now, with that being said, let’s remember that THCA flower isn’t giving you THCA – the raw, nonintoxicating precursor to delta 9 – but rather delta 9 THC, which is the same active compound in marijuana.  So, of course, THCA flower is intoxicating, which means that if you’re taking this product with another intoxicating product, you may end up getting more high than you bargained for if you don’t watch your dosage amounts.  While being too high isn’t dangerous, it can cause impairment that can make things like driving extremely risky – not to mention illegal.  Being too high can also lead to:

  • Anxiety
  • Grogginess
  • Forgetfulness
  • Lightheadedness
  • Dry mouth
  • Dry/bloodshot eyes

These side effects are common, and usually last for no more than a few hours.  They’re also considered mild, and no cause for real concern.

Is it Okay to Take Two THCA Products Together?

What about combining THCA products – like THCA dabs and THCA flower?  Yes, again, there’s no real risk, but you are likely to get very high, which is why this kind of combo is only best for those with a high tolerance.  Again, any product that’s heated for consumption, like THCA vapes, dabs, or flower, will be giving you delta 9 THC.  THCA gummies, tinctures, capsules, and similar products aren’t supplying you delta 9, as they’re not heated for consumption.

What Should I Know About Mixing and Matching Hemp Products?

If you are going to combine cannabinoid products together, whether they be 2 THCA products or THCA with another cannabinoid, there are some things to consider to ensure a satisfying experience.

#1: Dosage is Everything

First off, you want to consider the dosage of each THCA product, especially if you’re taking two intoxicating cannabinoids together.  Again, this is because you a full dose of each product would mean getting twice as high as what’s considered “standard,” which would be better suited for someone with a high tolerance and lots of cannabinoid experience.  Taking THCA flower with a nonintoxicating cannabinoid like CBD, however, can be useful by taking the edge off of the delta 9 high, decreasing the risk of side effects like anxiety.

#2: Different Combos Will Yield Different Results

Of course, each cannabinoid combo is unique.  Combining THCA flower with THC-P would mean a deeply potent high, since THC-P is about 10 times as strong as delta 9 THC.  Mixing THCA flower with a weaker cannabinoid like delta 8 could mean a milder high, since delta 8 is generally mellow, and known for being uniquely relaxing, which could benefit you if that’s the kind of effect you’re looking for.

#3: Timing Matters

One thing you also need to consider is timing.  Taking two products at the same time is different from taking THCA hemp flower in the morning, and vaping some delta 10 at night, for example.  It’s up to you if you want two products to affect you at the same time, or take different kinds of hemp products at different times of day to achieve different results depending on your varying needs from morning to night.

#4: Consider Each Delivery Method

Each delivery method is also going to make a difference.  THCA flower can be vaped, smoked, or used to make edibles.  Smoking or vaping the flower will give you fast-acting effects that last for a couple of hours, and even are super potent.  Consuming the product means an onset time of 1-2 hours, lasting for up to 8 hours, with somewhat milder effects.  Then, you need to consider the other product’s delivery method.  The reason why is this: let’s say you vape some delta 8, and thus take THCA flower in edible form at the same time.  By the time the THCA flower edible is getting started, the delta 8 vape will already be past its peak, which means you’re not getting the effects of both at the same time.

#5: The THCA Strains Can Matter as Well

Lastly, the strain of each product matters.  Taking THCA flower in an indica strain, and, say, vaping HHC in a sativa strain at the same time will give you something of a hybrid experience, so you do want to pay attention to each strain as the combined effects can dramatically alter the results you get.

Mixing and Matching Hemp Products: Nothing to Worry About

Ultimately, the THCA flower that you purchase can be enjoyed all on its own, but there’s no reason why you’d have to stop using other cannabinoid products, including other THCA products, since there’s no real risk associated with taking more than 1 cannabinoid at a time, or in a 24-hour period.  So, go ahead and keep enjoying your favorite products, knowing that THCA flower fill fits right into your existing hemp routine.

At Bloomz, you can enjoy premium THCA flower along with other infused hemp flower products as you so choose.  And, remember that Binoid’s extensive list of cannabinoid products can be used along with Bloomz THCA flower, so don’t be afraid to mix and match, and see what kinds of results you can get from combining cannabinoids, strains, product types, and more.
