Why THC-P Might Not Work For You

Tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) is regarded as being the most potent psychoactive cannabinoid in all of cannabis – about 30x as intoxicating as delta 9 THC, to be precise.  Yet, there is still always a possibility that you’re not going to get high off of it your first time.  Luckily, it’s usually a matter of making some simple adjustments to how you take THC-P Products, to all but guarantee a dreamy and powerful high.

Reasons Why You May Not Get as High as You Anticipated

Let’s cover the most common reasons why a person may not be getting results with tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P) like they had hoped.  As you’ll see, there are actually a lot of reasons why you may not feel its effects, especially as a beginner.

Reason #1: Your Tolerance

One issue could be your tolerance.  Some people have a high tolerance to THC in general due to lots of past experience with THC compounds, and so naturally they just need a stronger dose.  Or, it could be that you’re genetically predisposed to having a high THC tolerance because of how your CB1 receptors are built.  Either way, taking a little more THC-P would do the trick.

Reason #2: Your Chemistry

Some of us have certain aspects to our bodies that change the way certain cannabinoids affect us.  Things like our health, our hormones, our neurological system and our immune system can all change how high we get from THC-P.  The human body is complex, and scientists still aren’t exactly sure why some people feel cannabinoids differently from everyone else.

Reason #3: Your Cycle

Worth pointing out that if you’re currently menstruating, you may not be getting as high as you usually do, and there’s a very simple reason why.  When a woman’s estrogen levels drop, her THC tolerance is much higher, and so she needs to take a higher than usual dose of the same cannabinoid to get as high as she usually does.

Reason #4: What Else You’ve Consumed

It could also be that you have something else in your system that’s interfering with the absorption or effects of THC-P.  Alcohol, medications, herbs, supplements, and even certain foods that contain caffeine or sugar could change the way you experience THC-P.

Reason #5: The Product Itself

The issue could just be that you have a bad THC-P product.  Expired THC-P can’t get you high since the cannabinoid has degraded, and products made using poor extraction methods may lose their stability and never get you high.  Worse, there are fakes on the market that don’t actually contain any THC-P or other cannabinoids at all.

Reason #6: The Dosage

Dosage has a huge part in the effectiveness of THC-P.  Taking too little THC-P may not get you high at all, and that’s a common issue since many people are intimidated by its inherent potency.  But, you still want to follow the directions to take enough to actually get high.  And, like we said, if you have a high tolerance, you may need a higher dose than most people.

Reason #7: Not Waiting Long Enough for the Effects to Kick in

It can take a while for the THC-P to kick in once it’s consumed, so the product may work, but you just need a little more patience.  Some vapes can take up to 30 minutes before becoming effective depending on the strain, and edibles can require a couple of hours.  Consuming the cannabinoid on a full stomach may slow down its absorption further.

What to Do if You’re Not Getting Effects from THC-P

If you’re not getting high like you anticipated from tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P), here are some simple tips that can make a big difference in the effectiveness of your experience.

Tip #1: Try Again

We do recommend that if you don’t get high the first time, that you try again.  Sometimes, it’s just a fluke, and the second time and there on after, you’ll get the results you wanted.  For reasons we don’t fully understand, some people don’t get high off of any THC compound the first time they take it.

Tip #2: Up Your Dosage

Also, consider upping the amount you take next time.  Don’t go overboard, since you don’t want to get too high on an already powerful cannabinoid, but go with the next increment up, like an extra half gummy, or another puff of vapor.

Tip #3: Try THC-P On Its Own

Try taking THC-P when nothing else is in your system, whether that be a medication, a heavy meal or even CBD.  You might be surprised by how different THC-P feels when there are no other compounds in the body that may affect your state of mind.

Tip #4: Find a Better-Quality Product

Only buy THC-P from reputable brands.  Search for lots of positive reviews on a company’s website, and also look for third-party lab reports that show that the company is producing pure, potent and authentic THC-P products.
