CBG Oil Benefits and Uses

We’ve talked quite a bit about what CBG is, how it works with the body’s endocannabinoid system and how to seek it out to enjoy what it has to offer.  But, we haven’t gone into too much detail regarding its unique properties that distinguish it from CBD and other popular cannabinoids.

CBG is also known to have a few possible side effects, however not many of them have been thoroughly researched. Most evidence of side ffects is based on anecdotal evidence, or hearsay. Today, we’ll be discussing the potential benefits of CBG based on clinical studies that have been performed over the years.  As you’ll see, CBG really does seem to have a lot to offer, which is why it’s slowly being considered a highly desirable cannabinoid independent of the other compounds which are native to the hemp plant.

CBG and How it Works in the Body

Before we get into the different potential benefits of CBG, it’s important that you understand why it may be beneficial in the first place.  CBG works with the body’s endocannabinoid system, being a cannabinoid. The endocannabinoid system uses a series of cannabinoid receptors placed strategically throughout the body.  These cannabinoid receptors dictate the function of bodily systems and are capable of regulating bodily processes as long as they receive the right amount of cannabinoids regularly.

CBG is capable of attaching to cannabinoid receptors throughout the body and being utilized as needed.  This is why CBG may be able to help with such a wide variety of common complaints.

Also, we want to point out that like CBD, CBG is non-psychoactive, which means that you don’t have to worry about it making you high, even when taken in isolate form.  CBG is also considered nontoxic in standard doses, just like CBD and other cannabinoids that we seek out from the cannabis plant. Of course, the higher the dose of CBG, the stronger its potential effects will be, so keep this in mind when choosing your milligram strength and dosage level.

Potential Benefit #1: Relief from Pain

If there’s one thing that we all experience from time to time, it’s pain.  While there are many different medications out there that may be able to help with all types of pain, a lot of us prefer more holistic, natural methods. Interestingly, studies have been done on CBG’s unique effects on pain levels.

Potential Benefit #2: Neuroprotective Properties

Clinical researchers have been doing studies on CBG’s potential as a neuroprotectant.  Neuroprotectants are agents that are capable of protecting the health of the neurons in the brain.  Our neurons dictate things like cognitive function, mood and memory. As we age, it’s not unusual for us to slowly stop producing new neurons, which is why cognitive decline is a fairly common symptom of getting older.  Neuroprotectants work by stimulating neurogenesis while helping prevent the neurons from dying off prematurely.

Potential Benefit #3: Aid in Bladder Health

One complaint that we hear from a lot of women as they get older is that their bladder health tends to decline.  Bladder health is of utmost importance if we are to maintain a properly functioning body as we age, as the bladder serves a critical function in the maintenance of our overall well-being.  Those who are concerned about their bladder health may find it interesting that CBG has been studied for its potential effects on the bladder.

Potential Benefit #4: Appetite Stimulant

We tend to take it for granted, but our sense of appetite is a very important bodily process that ensures our survival.  Our appetite belongs to our digestive system, and it exists to make sure that we consume enough calories throughout the day to give the body what it needs in order to be healthy.  There are many reasons why we can lose our appetites from time to time, whether it be related to an underlying illness, a digestive disorder or even a mood disorder such as anxiety or depression.  Cannabis has maintained a reputation for boosting a person’s appetite over the years, so it’s not surprising that CBG is being researched for its potential effects on appetite.

Potential Benefit #5: Relief from Inflammatory Skin Conditions

Inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema aren’t necessarily rare, but it doesn’t make them any less embarrassing, not to mention very uncomfortable.  Inflammation of the skin can be caused by both internal and external factors, which can vary in terms of severity. Now, researchers are trying to learn more about the potential anti-inflammatory properties of CBG, and how they could work when applied topically to the skin.

Potential Benefit #6: Glaucoma Relief

Glaucoma is an eye condition that’s caused by intraocular pressure.  If left untreated, it can have debilitating effects on a person’s eyesight, which is why seeking out treatment early on is absolutely imperative.  Fascinatingly, CBG has been researched for its potential effects on this relatively common and fairly difficult-to-treat condition.

How to Use CBG for the Best Possible Results

Now that you understand the possible benefits of CBG, it’s time to talk about how to get the most out of your CBG usage to potentially tackle these issues in a way that’s the most beneficial.

One thing is that in order to reap the full potential benefits that CBG has to offer, you have to make sure that you’re consuming the right amount of it.  You can go about this in two ways: one is to seek out a full spectrum hemp extract that contains the natural levels of CBG as they occur in hemp. Although the amount of CBG is fairly low in the plant material, the synergistic properties of hemp can increase the potency once it’s in the body.

Another option is to find high CBG strains and other CBG products that are specially formulated to give you uniquely high levels of this cannabinoid.  These are becoming easier and easier to find as CBG is becoming extremely popular. For example, our Binoid CBD Oil Drops contain a very high amount of CBG in each bottle.

Our latest batch contained 50mg of CBG in a bottle of 500mg Cannabinoids. Meaning it was around 10% CBG, which is a high percentage for a Broad Spectrum (THC-Free) CBD oil. This also means you get almost 2mg of CBG per dropper, which is a great amount for reaping these benefits. Most other CBD products have around 10-15mg in the entire bottle! This means 0.5mg per dropper. You can see the major difference. To learn more about Binoid CBD drops with high CBG concentrations click here

For the best results, we recommend making CBG part of your daily routine.  It seems that the endocannabinoid system likes to build up a supply of cannabinoids before it can fully put them to use.

Lastly, just like CBD products, CBG products must be high in quality in order to be bioavailable and effective.  Therefore, always seek out brands that provide lab reports from third parties, as this is a great way to know with certainty that a product is capable of giving you the full properties of this fascinating compound.

Final CBG Thoughts

These are only the benefits that have been tested in clinical environments, so it’s safe to say that CBG likely still has many other fascinating properties that have yet to be uncovered by scientists.  If you wanna give CBG a try, check out the CBG-based products here at Binoid CBD.
